Afghanica is an indica dominant F1 hybrid produced by the Flying Dutchmen that crosses the old school Afghani cannabis genetics with the original Skunk strain. The Afghani influence is clearly noticeable in it’s appearance and flavor, while the Skunk brings a big boost to growth vigour and yield.
When growing outdoors, this plant has a distinct Christmas tree shape, and can reach 2 meters (6 feet) in height, and will be ready to harvest in mid October. Indoors, she can be kept shorter, around 4-5 feet, while still producing a heavy yield after 8 or 9 weeks of flowering.
Growers report that this strain does well both indoors and outdoors. It’s not at all finicky, and can produce a decent yield in average conditions. Having said that, she is known to handle heavy nutrient solutions when done right with phenomenal results.
Afghanica buds are very dense, and heavily covered in resin. The leaves are extremely sticky as well and make great material for hash production. When smoked, Afghanica has a somewhat acrid smell and taste, resembling her Afghani heritage, with an addition of sweet skunky flavor.
Smoking this strain results in a heavy indica stone. It comes on slowly, but lasts for quite some time. While not recommended for physical activity, this strain is great for pain relief, and is often used in the medical marijuana community as a sleep aid.
